In the demi-monde of fashion where everyone claims authority, it is just highly imperative that a show must transpire to impose that authority. Samsung and her chichi counterpart’s Philippine Daily Inquirer and the rest of the sponsors’ Folded and Hung, YOU, Kipling, Nike Sports, Technomarine, Speedo, and Havaianas all presented one ramping sensation they call the Inquirer Lifestyle Series for Fitness Fashion last Saturday at the Waterfront Hotel Pacific Ballroom in Cebu. We weren’t greeted by satins and layers and layers of tulle to highlight wedding gowns and evening wear but were enthused by casual and fitness apparel all showcased by the country’s designers that we pay lip service to and Cebu’s MAC and Manila Models.

The show finished off with the designers being given recognition by the mavericks of the show especially Inquirer LIFESTYLE’s EIC Thelma San Juan! We missed Jun Escario and Rajo Laurel that night but their lack of physical presence made up for the pieces they presented on the runway. Who wears them is relevant to how one wears them. The Fitness Fashion show aims to blend alternative pieces, create fashionable ensembles and maintain an active lifestyle - another Jackie Aquino baby.
