Philippines joined forces with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) on a reforestation project to replenish our natural resources. This social responsibility  highlighted as the GO GREEN PHILIPPINES Program seeks to preserve the natural resources with local and foreign support.

The Philippine costume jewelry industry is largely dependent on such maintenance of our natural resources.

Cebu FAME then launched Bijoux Cebu – a trade-only exhibit open to the public last July 15, 2008 at Casino Español.  An ON THE SPOT Design Competition held in timely fashion at the Marquee, Shangrila Mactan last Sept 20-22 had fashion shows and programs all lined up all for an international or better yet, global exposure.

The jewelry and accessories fair was successful with 147 exhibitors! Janet Chua, FAME’s President, spoke of $1.7M earnings as reported by SUNSTAR Cebu and such flourishing feat could mean more of these in 2009.
